author Morrison F. Gardner
Age: 5 - 14
Administration: 20 to 30 minutes, 10 - 15 to score. Individual
The TVRPS is comprised of four subtests that measure visual-reasoning and processing abilities. These four subtests are: Visual Picture Completion that measures a child’s ability to visualize (differentiate) essential matter from non-essential matter; Visual-Spatial Relationship that measures a child’s ability to determine directionality of common objects and things or parts of common objects and things; Visual Discrimination that measures a child’s ability to determine visually fine distinguishing characteristics among four objects and things, in which one of them would be exactly the same as the stimulus; and Part-Whole Relationships that measure a child’s ability to visually determine from disassembled parts a whole object, which requires memory of common objects and things and synthesizing skills.
The TVRPS can be administered by occupational therapists, psychologists, optometrists, speech and language pathologists, learning specialists, resource specialists, and other professionals. Test results from field study have been converted into standard scores, scaled scores, percentiles, stanines, and age equivalents.
